Body group function

The engine block is the support of the engine and the assembly matrix of the crank connecting rod mechanism, valve train and the main parts of the engine system.

The cylinder head is used to close the top of the cylinder and form a combustion chamber together with the piston top and cylinder wall. In addition, the water jacket, oil passage and oil pan in the cylinder head and engine body are components of the cooling system and lubrication system respectively.

Body group composition

Modern automobile engine block is mainly composed of body, cylinder head, cylinder head, cylinder liner, main bearing cover and oil pan. For the engine with cylinder liner, the engine block also includes dry or wet cylinder liner.
